Fall in Maine is one of the most beautiful times of the year.. and this year did not disappoint. The weather has been almost summer like, and the colors fantastic...
Another picture of the Rumford Falls..
Joe and I had a wonderful week.. although we were both very busy with work, we made sure to find special time to spend with each other.
On Wednesday Night, we went to the beautiful Sky Theater ( http://www.necelticarts.com/) in South Carthage Maine. This was my first time there and I have to say, I cant wait to go back! I wish I had brought my guitar.. all are welcome to join in the JAM session prior to the start of every show.. There is a show every Wednesday night.. $15 ticket.. no matter who is playing.
To get to the theater, you take a dirt road just off the top of Morrison Hill in Dixfield. The view is breathtaking and we arrived just in time for this beautiful sunset.
The outside of the theater looks like an old abandoned ware house...but when you step inside...you cannot believe your eyes..
Although we sat in plastic chairs for two hours we did not care... the entertainment was incredible and we thoroughly enjoyed the show..thanks Denny!!! Cant wait for you to teach me your song... "Ice Fishing"

The work week ended as busy as it started but we were looking forward ..or at least I was looking forward to attending a formal dinner, a GALA for the 160th anniversary of the Maine Medical Association...one of our Providers at Rumford hospital.. and a dear friend was being honored as the outgoing President of the MMA... Congratulations to Dieter Kreckel... we are so proud of you..We had a wonderful time, the evening started with a reception at the Portland Museum of Art.. then dinner at the grand ballroom of the Holiday Inn by the Bay.. then of course dancing...Here is Dr. Kreckel dancing with his 3 year old Granddaughter...
We had a full table representing Rumford and Bridgton hospitals...We were joined by Dr. Kroger and his wife Christine, John Ludwig, Jill Rollins, Lisa Burger and Brea, of course myself and my husband Joe , who would be lying if he told you he did not have a great time.. we would turn around and there he was talking with Elliot Cutler (Candidate for Governer) or with Gordon Smith.. Executive Director of the MMA...
The one surprise I had as I was taking my seat at Table 21...I looked over at table 20...just behind me was this man... I had not seen him in years..he was my mentor when I first started out as an OR nurse 28 years ago... Dr. David Phillips....
It was so nice to see he and Janice, they look wonderful, have built a home in Scarborough and are doing great.... He says hello to all the Rumford Folks.!!
Lastly, I have to say it has been a marvelous year for our garden...today we pulled the last of the plants out of the ground and picked our Carrots... we have had a bountiful harvest, one of the best we have seen in years... we will be enjoying all the pickles, canning, etc all winter long...
Until next week... LUVS and
Bye Bye
