Week #11 - North Maine Woods with Dan and Amy

Wonderful Labor Day weekend with Family. Dan and Amy arrived on Thursday after spending a few days camping in Acadia and biking the carriage trails. From here, the four of us headed to Millinockett to spend the Labor day weekend. This is a picture of Amy and I on our last night... We finally got to see the mountain..as it was covered most of the weekend by the "Lemay Shroud!"

We arrived Friday and checked in to our cabin at NEOC... We had one of their cove side cabins on Millinockett lake.

It was very comfortable, peaceful and cool...

Friday night we headed to Fred and Yvette's for a Lobster dinner... wonderful time with family and new friends...It is amazing how you can not see family for years.. and feel like you are just picking up where you left off... These two gentlemen were the most fun. Thank you to the Herrings (Yvette included) for spoiling us all weekend... We hope to repay you soon and can't wait to visit again.. Love you guys.

I have to send a big thanks also to Fred for the boat rides... both of them.. First he took us out to the historic Boom house museum and a lovely ride up the west branch of the Penobscot.. then he took us out later to try to get a picture of the ever allusive and  majestic Katahdin
Here is the picture of the boom House..

On Saturday night we went to my cousin Joey Arsenault's house... and yes, I brought my guitar.. great time was had by all.. Ralph Arsenault and his wife and family were also there.. we played late into the night and of course I enjoyed myself. We also got to spend a lot of time with Aunt Pauline and Uncle Joe and we got our traditional "5 Joe picture"
Pictured above... Joey, Joseph, Joe, Uncle Joe, and My Joe!

Finally.. I have to Thank my Brother Dan for taking the time to bring me to the farm where my dad grew up... For those of you that are following my other blog..this is on my bucket list...here is the picture to prove we found it.. Thanks Dan...LOVE YOU!
