Monday morning in Island falls, we wake up to 4 inches of new snow.. just enough to make the trails perfect.. and the temps are in the 20's, not too cold.. we are so excited...
BLAH... Joe's sled will not run...........YIKES.. it starts, idles fine, but when you accelerate, it stalls.. not getting any gas.. So now Joe spends his day "tinkering" on the Turbo and I head out by myself... GO SMB!
The new snow has made the riding fantastic and I am so enjoying myself.. Wishing Joe could join me but otherwise having a great time.
This is a view of Pleasant Pond.. Joe and I have spent many days fishing this lake with our boat.. cant wait to get out there with our Ice traps...
This is Mattawamkaeg Lake... We never took our boat out here as there are many rocks.. and the locals have warned us to stay away unless we are very familiar.. so also may want to ice fish here as well.
View from atop a mountain as I was heading back to the condo...Hoping Joe got his sled fixed.. He has called to say he went to Houlton to buy a new Fuel Filter.. hoping that is the problem.
Alas.. it was not the problem.. not the plugs either. Finally we call Rick... He says maybe it is elctrical and to try to dismantle a wire in the throttle.. for the kill switch..
It is now dark and Joe decides to wait till Tuesday morning to finish up..
We have a nice evening where Joe beats me at Cribbage way to many times.. :(
Tuesday... Joe works on the wiring... And Guess what.. Ricky was right... YAY!
Joe got his sled running... However, we just received a call from Rachael that she is at the hospital with Grammy.. Possible Stroke.
while waiting for further news.. we take a small ride... come back to the condo and start packing.. we are going home.. it is the right thing to do and we cannot be up here not knowing what is happening with Ma.
thanks to all our Millinockett family and friends... we will be back.
We leave early Wednesday morning and are at Rumford Hospital by 2pm.. Mom looks great.. I think she may be able to go home the next day... we are feeling very blessed and grateful for all who have taken care of her.
On Thursday morning I get up early and head to the hospital to be there when her doctor arrives, she looks tired to me and has a slight headache.. he comes in and feels she is ready for discharge... After breakfast her headache gets worst and she is nauseated... The team of nurses and Doctors decide she needs to stay one more night.. All the additional tests have come back and she is in no serious danger.
Friday I decide to go to work.. Ma is much better and is Discharged by Noon. Joe takes her home and stays with her for the day. After work I bring supper down and Chris comes to spend the night.
Saturday, she is still showing improvement. Joe heads over while I clean house and continue to unpack. We will most likely head to Worthley pond to ice fish a little and Gabe is coming to sleep over tonight.
Tomorrow Joe and Lenny are heading the first Annual "Fly Pack" Ice fishing derby.
SUNDAY
Ma is doing so much better.. thanks to Sarah, Nate, Diane, Courtney and everyone else who has stayed with her and helped her to heal... Today she seemed like herself.
After Gabe woke up and had breakfast we headed to the Ice Shack... WOW it was cold.. we did not stay long.
Lenny caught this 17 inch rainbow Trout.. the only fish of the Weekend.
Gabe Bundled up to go to the Ice Shack
