Love the nursing team as well as the entire staff at my hospital.. You all make it the best possible place to care for patients... I am truly blessed.
The Diet this week is actually going quite well.. I have lost 4 pounds... exercising every day.. twice yesterday. I got up and after a little housework, I commenced to do a 30 minute work out on the elliptical. Great work out, showered, and went to pick up Gabe...
My plan was to either take him to the Ice shack with Papa, or go sliding out in the yard.. He chose sliding, which was fine until we got out there and I realized we had around 8 inches of new snow and had not broke a trail for him on the snowmobiles...
SOOOOOOOOOOO ... I, like any other loving Memere' in the world.. put on my snow shoes, sore legs and all, and proceeded to pull Gabe around on his sled - UP and DOWN hills till we made a good trail for him to slide.
Needless to say, I was happy later that evening that I had two good workouts.. but more of that soon.
Here he is ... finally bracing for the " READY SET GO " mode
It was a wonderful afternoon with Gabe. After he left with his parents it was time for us to get ready to head out for a fun night with old friends... Jeff and Janice Glover hosted a pot luck dinner at their lovely home and of course all are invited to bring their guitars, harmonicas, and singing voices.. Of course I had a wonderful time singing and playing on the Glover Stage... Thanks Jamie for letting play with you. Oh., I almost forgot, the reason I was happy to have had two workouts was because I could drink a few beers and not feel too guilty. :)
Maria did a wonderful job as always and a good time was had by all.
This morning Joe and I were slow to get up and get going, but after a couple cups of coffee and a trip to visit Ma and fill her wood box, we were on our way to spend the day out on the trails.
We started out on the Mud pond trail.. beautiful views of the back side of Tumbledown Dick.
Next we decided to head on down to Canton, we heard the trails to Canton were great and we were not disappointed. Kudos to the Groomers in Peru.. WOW... great riding.
Oh for all of you readers who may have grown up in Canton.. I bet you recognize this..
I just had to take a picture... too many memories of this thing to not!
We both had issues with our sleds today, My speedometer and odometer stopped working, I will call Rick this week to be sure I will be able to use it on the big trip coming up.. then Joe just "Broke down" his sled would not start... luckily, he is a "GENIUS" and was able to find a loose wire in the ignition panel and fix it.
We were on our way again. Our plan was to go across the Androscoggin in Canton and ride to Dixfield, then on up to Rumford and circle back around to Peru.. When we got to the bridge.. people were there and said ... "Dont go that way.. trails are terrible.."
So we turned left and went back to Peru. We got past the Pond and decided we would explore all the trails in Peru.. we had not done that yet this year and it proved to be a wonderful day.
We climbed to the top of Tumbledown Dick...
Ran into Bill Hussey and he took this picture for us.
I took more pics of the view from up there, it is just incredible.. it was a beautiful day and we are so blessed to live in this gorgeous state.
We made it home early evening, and are now relaxing and getting ready for the week ahead.
See you all next week.. I will post late, probably Monday or Tuesday as I will be on the SMB trip.. that is if my Daughter in law does not go into labor..
YAY!
Until Next week, LUVS!
